Dr. Arkadev Bhattacharya is an Indian Classical (Bharatnatyam) & Contemporary Dance Trainer, Choreographer and Performer.

  • National Scholarship (HRD Govt. of India): 2001-2003
  • M.A. (Bharatnatyam) 1st class, Rabindra Bharati University : 1998
  • Diploma from Ananda Shankar Centre for Performing Arts (ASCPA) Indian Contemporary or Uday Shankar Style


  • 6 years training in Uday Shankar Style of Dance under the Guidance of Smt.Tanusree Shankar
  • 26 years training in BHARATNATYAM under the Guidance of Guru Khagendra Nath Barman
  • Short term training in BHARATNATYAM under the Guidance of Padmabhushan Dhanajayans
  • Special training in Bharatnatyam under the Guidance of Padmasree Leela Samson
  • Workshop attended Padmabhushan Guru Prof.C.V.Chandrashekhar.

    Established own institute Niharika Centre for Performing Arts and formed a dance troupe, travelled all over the country and abroad, participated in many prestigious festivals of India. Worked in television and stage, is comfortable in water ballet and synchronized swimming.

    Performed in many dance festivals across the country and abroad and earned accolades. He has Created his own style of choreography where he blends Indian aesthetics with universal appeal. His presentation and work always have left a mark of signature. He and his wife have tried to blend two popular classical dance forms of India, Bharatnatyam and Odissi and performed almost 50 (fifty) various festival widely.

    Invited by UNESCO to visit Germany in the year 2006 for a cultural exchange programme.

    Visited Malaysia to perform and to conduct workshops on techniques of Bharatnatyam
